When I was at school a client wanted a deep conditioner treatment. However my teacher/school director only had regular conditioner. She told me put the conditioner on her hair and put a processing cap on and let it sit for 5-10 mins.

Y’all know me,haircare queen. I’m thinking this ain’t bouta do jack. 🤦🏾‍♀️. I had to leave so I couldn’t educate my school director on the difference if she didn’t know already.

But I wanted to share this opportunity with y’all. The difference between a regular conditioner and a deep conditioner. The difference is deep conditioners deeply penetrate the hair strands vs standard conditioner conditions the top layer of the hair strand.

Deep conditioners will say deep conditioner or hair mask. And you will need to leave on your hair for about 30mins to 1 hr. Regular conditioners are different they will need to be left for no longer than 5 mins. But that’s not considered a deep conditioner.

For people that are more prone to dry hair deep conditioners should be used every wash day. If your hair doesn’t lack moisture then a regular conditioner is just fine.
